Senior Foreman

Hire Resolve’s client, a leading provider of top-tier construction, project management, and specialist subcontracting services based in Wetton, Cape Town, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Foreman to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with project specifications and timelines.
• Team Leadership: Direct and coordinate the work of site teams, including subcontractors, tradespeople, and laborers, providing clear guidance and optimal task delegation.
• Work Planning: Interpret construction plans and schedules, allocate resources effectively, and proactively plan ahead to prevent delays and minimize downtime.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all completed work meets the highest industry standards and specifications by conducting regular inspections and promptly addressing any defects.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety legislation and internal site safety protocols, conduct daily toolbox talks, and ensure correct PPE usage.
• Material Management: Monitor material usage and stock levels, coordinate deliveries, and optimize resource utilization to minimize waste.
• Progress Reporting: Maintain accurate daily records of site activities and provide consistent updates regarding progress, delays, or challenges to site management.
• Problem Solving: Swiftly identify and resolve on-site issues to maintain project momentum and avoid costly delays.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise professionally with engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders during site inspections and project meetings.
• Mentorship & Training: Support the professional development of junior staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and adherence to best construction practices.

Requirements

• Education & Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) certificate (essential); a relevant Trade Certificate (e.g., Carpentry, Bricklaying, Electrical, Plumbing) or NQF Level 4–5 in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (advantageous); a valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher); and relevant Health and Safety training (e.g., First Aid, SHE Rep, or OHS Certificate).
• Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of solid experience in a foreman or supervisory role within the construction or infrastructure sector, featuring a proven track record of managing teams, subcontractors, and complex project schedules on large-scale or multidisciplinary sites.
• Skills & Competencies: Exceptional leadership and coordination abilities, advanced capability in reading and interpreting technical drawings, deep knowledge of construction regulations, strong problem-solving skills, and basic computer literacy.
