Junior Software Engineer

Are you at the very beginning of your software engineering career and looking for an opportunity where your potential matters more than a long resume? We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer (ranging from recent graduates to approximately 3 years of experience) to join our established backend engineering team.

Please note: This role is 100% remote, but you must currently live in South Africa to be considered.

What We Are Looking For

We aren't looking for someone who simply checks the most technical boxes. We are looking for someone exceptionally bright, possessing a strong academic foundation, a genuine aptitude for software engineering, and—most importantly—evidence that you love learning how things work.

While some exposure to C#, .NET, APIs, SQL, Azure, or Microsoft backend technologies will certainly help, we are equally interested in what you have built when nobody was paying you to do it:

• The application you created simply because you wanted to understand how it worked
• The GitHub repository you keep tinkering with on the side
• The API you built over a weekend just for fun
• The university project you took considerably further than the assignment required
• The technology you taught yourself purely out of curiosity

We require a strong degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, combined with 0 to 3 years of commercial experience. Ultimately, however, we are hiring for aptitude, curiosity, and potential.
