SAP Technical Consultant

Please note that this role is for an AI Engineer within our SAP team. The AI Engineer is a versatile and highly skilled professional responsible for leveraging advanced data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques to drive business insights, optimize operations, and deliver innovative solutions. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from creating data mining architectures and statistical models to implementing AI-powered prompt engineering strategies.

Essential Skills

• Python Programming: Strong understanding of Python syntax, clean and reusable code principles, and experience with frameworks and libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
• AWS Lambda Functions: Experience developing, deploying, and managing serverless applications using AWS Lambda, along with proficiency in writing unit and integration tests to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Version Control with Git: Experience with Git repositories and code management platforms (e.g., GitHub) for effective version control and team collaboration.
• Testing Frameworks: Experience with testing tools like pytest for creating and maintaining unit tests, and the ability to implement automated testing pipelines to ensure code reliability.
• API Management: Knowledge of API design principles, best practices, and experience working with RESTful APIs. Familiarity with API management tools, such as Apigee, for efficient and secure integration.
• Cloud Platforms: Understanding of how to deploy applications within AWS.
• IDEs and Tools: Proficiency in Visual Studio Code, GitHub Desktop, PyCharm, and Jupyter Notebook.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter.

Advantageous Skills

• Strong understanding of SQL with experience writing complex queries for data extraction and manipulation.
• Basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4 and their applications.
• Familiarity with integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face) into Python applications.
• Experience with the SAP Analytics Stack and tools.
• Experience designing and creating data models within SAP Datasphere, leveraging Python for data transformation tasks.
• Experience developing and implementing data integration solutions to connect various data sources to SAP Datasphere using Python scripts and APIs.
• Ability to implement and manage infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
• Understanding of and experience with Generative AI use cases or projects.
• Strong problem-solving and presentation skills, with the ability to coach and train colleagues and users when required.

Responsibilities

• Data Analytics and Modeling: Create data mining architectures, models, and protocols to identify trends and patterns in large datasets across various business functions, including market economics, supply chain, marketing, and scientific research. Apply advanced statistical and data analysis methodologies to derive actionable insights, and stay up to date with emerging data science principles.
• Machine Learning and AI Integration: Develop and implement machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to solve business problems. Architect and implement prompt engineering strategies using advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to guide and control AI language models, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align outputs with organizational goals.
• AI-Powered Content Generation: Craft, refine, and optimize AI-generated text prompts for applications ranging from conversational agents to automated content creation. Apply machine learning methodologies—including training data curation, feature engineering, model evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning—to continually improve AI system performance. Leverage knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
• AI System Integration and Deployment: Integrate AI systems and models into existing applications and processes. Develop scalable, reliable, and secure deployment strategies, collaborating closely with software engineers and IT teams to ensure successful implementation and maintenance.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Provide guidance and support to help the organization leverage data-driven decision-making and AI-enabled capabilities. Partner with subject matter experts to translate business requirements into effective AI solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Python development.
• Strong background in software development and mathematics, complemented by excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience in delivering AI solutions.
