Senior Application Support Engineer

Are you a technically driven Application Support Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems across C#, Vue.js, Electron, .NET, Windows, Linux, and complex enterprise environments?

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to join a leading technology organisation.

What you’ll be doing

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients
• Own support cases from initial triage through to verified resolution
• Lead remote installations and upgrades
• Diagnose application, desktop, server, and network-related issues
• Read and interpret C# code, stack traces, and application logs
• Troubleshoot Vue.js and Electron client-side issues
• Diagnose .NET applications across Windows and Linux environments
• Investigate firewall, proxy, certificate, and network connectivity issues
• Utilise Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for effective troubleshooting
• Identify recurring issues and drive permanent solutions
• Contribute to small bug fixes and stability improvements
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• Collaborate closely with client IT teams and internal engineering teams

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical support, solutions engineering, or platform engineering
• 2+ years of client-facing experience
• Strong hands-on C# experience
• Strong Vue.js and Electron diagnostic experience
• Working experience with Angular
• Proficiency working across both Windows and Linux environments
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting .NET applications
• Strong enterprise networking troubleshooting expertise
• Solid experience with firewalls, proxies, certificates, PKI, and TLS
• Familiarity with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
• Exceptional troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

• Azure networking experience
• Electron packaging, auto-updates, and code-signing
• Linux administration skills
• PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
• Azure AD / Entra ID / SSO experience
• SQL knowledge
• Relevant Azure certifications

Salary: R46,000 – R68,000 per month

Location: Remote / Hybrid

This is NOT a traditional help desk role. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting to the root of complex technical issues and can confidently work across application code, client environments, servers, and networking.
