Programmer

A well-established organisation in the livestock and animal improvement industry is looking for an experienced Programmer to join their dynamic team in Bloemfontein.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in database design and programming, including SQL and PL/SQL
• Web programming experience utilizing HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript
• Proven experience in application development for Android and iOS environments
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant programming and systems development experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Exceptional accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
• Strong communication skills in both Afrikaans and English

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with Linux and Bash scripting
• Working knowledge of Perl or Python programming languages

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain computer programs, web applications, and mobile apps
• Develop and maintain specialized systems used for animal registration and performance recording
• Maintain comprehensive system specifications and databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming and system-related issues efficiently
• Provide ongoing technical and system support to internal stakeholders
• Ensure accurate, secure, and reliable system functionality across all platforms
