Staff Accountant

Our US-based client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their dynamic remote finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in multi-company general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close processes, cash applications, and comprehensive financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general ledger transactions across multiple entities using QuickBooks.
• Prepare accurate journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, reclassifications, and intercompany transactions.
• Process customer payments and efficiently resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and deposit variances.
• Perform comprehensive monthly bank, credit card, clearing, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the month-end close process to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare balance sheets, Profit & Loss statements, variance analyses, and supporting financial schedules.
• Maintain meticulous accounting records and organized supporting documentation.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and other ad-hoc accounting requirements as directed by the CFO.
• Proactively identify accounting errors, internal control gaps, and opportunities for process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 to 4 years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience.
• Strong, hands-on QuickBooks expertise, preferably within a multi-company environment.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting principles, and account reconciliations.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the proven ability to consistently meet strict month-end deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Prior experience with deferred revenue, BILL, or external audits is considered a strong advantage.
• Must be available and willing to work US business hours.
