Platform Engineer

Our client, a leading UK IT Managed Service Provider with offices in Cape Town, is seeking a skilled Azure Platform Engineer to join their dynamic managed services team. This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for delivering expert 3rd line support and project work across multiple enterprise accounts.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing 3rd line incident management, diagnosis, investigation, and resolution across complex cloud environments
• Delivering technical project implementation work for clients remotely
• Collaborating closely with the service desk, technical teams, and vendors to resolve issues within agreed SLAs
• Communicating clearly with both internal teams and customers regarding progress and solutions
• Contributing innovative ideas for service improvement and mentoring less experienced team members
• Compiling comprehensive technical documentation and user guides

What you’ll need

• 5 to 10 years of experience with Windows Server and Active Directory in an enterprise environment
• Strong PowerShell scripting capabilities
• Solid, hands-on experience across core Azure services, including VMs, Key Vaults, Bastion, Azure Policy, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, NSGs, Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, Load Balancers, Application Gateways, Backups, and Azure Arc
• Relevant Azure certifications (Administration, Solutions Architect, Virtual Desktop) are highly advantageous
• ITIL Foundation exposure is beneficial
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to manage stakeholders effectively under pressure
• A calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting in a fast-paced, high-priority environment
