Warehouse Manager

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Warehouse Manager with exceptional problem-solving skills to join their growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory and Stock Control: Maintain accurate stock records and ensure inventory data integrity within ERP/WMS platforms. Oversee cycle counts and periodic stock takes while investigating and resolving any variances. Manage stock levels proactively to minimize obsolescence, shrinkage, and stockouts, ensuring correct FIFO/FEFO or applicable stock rotation methods are strictly followed.
  • Receiving and Dispatch: Oversee goods receiving by verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery notes. Manage picking, packing, and dispatch processes to guarantee accurate and on-time deliveries. Coordinate closely with procurement, sales, and production teams to align warehouse activities with overall demand.
  • Warehouse Operations and Layout: Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to promote efficient workflow and productivity. Ensure proper handling, storage, and clear labelling of all goods. Manage material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring that regular maintenance schedules are strictly met.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and develop warehouse staff to reach their full potential. Set clear performance targets, conduct regular reviews, and manage discipline in line with company policy and the Labour Relations Act. Foster a highly productive, accountable, and safety-conscious team culture.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and internal SHE standards. Conduct thorough risk assessments, enforce safe working practices, and maintain exceptional housekeeping standards. Ensure that all equipment operators are properly licensed and certified.
  • Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Report regularly on key performance metrics, including accuracy, throughput, on-time dispatch, and stock losses. Identify and implement innovative process improvements to reduce operational costs and drive overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management (highly advantageous)
  • 5+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Proven experience working with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP)
  • Strong comprehensive knowledge of inventory and stock control principles
  • Exceptional leadership and people management abilities
  • Sound knowledge of OHS legislation and safety standards
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems
  • Valid forklift license is considered advantageous
