Payroll Analyst

Our client, a leading diversified investment holding company operating through a shared services model, is seeking a dedicated Payroll Analyst to join their dynamic People team in Stellenbosch. Managing multiple entities and complex reward structures under one roof, this role offers an exciting opportunity for payroll processing with real analytical depth.

You will take ownership of end-to-end processing for selected monthly payrolls of 400+ employees across multiple entities, working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Officer to serve as each other's backup and quality control. Beyond processing, you will dive into payroll and reward data, build comprehensive reports and dashboards, and transform numbers into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process assigned payrolls accurately and efficiently on Sage 300 People while ensuring strict compliance with deadlines
• Conduct advanced reconciliations and identify root causes to resolve discrepancies effectively
• Build and interpret detailed payroll and reward reporting alongside management dashboards
• Support salary increases, bonuses, benchmarking, and share vesting cycles with meticulous data preparation
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system and platform enhancements
• Ensure full compliance with PAYE, UIF, SDL, and COID statutory requirements

What We Are Looking For

• A relevant tertiary qualification
• 5+ years of relevant payroll experience, ideally within a multi-entity or shared services environment
• A solid understanding of South African payroll legislation and benefit fund administration
• Sharp analytical skills complemented by intermediate-plus Microsoft Excel proficiency
