Dealership Accountant

An established independent motor dealership and workshop is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee the accounting, financial reporting, and payroll administration for the business.

Role Description

• Manage day-to-day workshop accounting operations
• Reconcile Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounts accurately
• Monitor workshop revenue, labour sales, and parts profitability
• Oversee pre-owned vehicle sales accounting
• Control and track vehicle reconditioning costs
• Analyse stock ageing and vehicle turnover rates
• Handle full-function payroll administration and related accounting
• Ensure strict compliance with labour legislation, tax regulations, and company policies
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and business analysis

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the motor retail or dealership environment
• Thorough understanding of workshop and vehicle inventory accounting, payroll processes, and statutory submissions
• Demonstrated experience using dealership management systems (DMS) and payroll software
• Strong background in management reporting and financial analysis
• Fully computer literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
