Payroll Analyst

Our client, a large diversified investment holding company operating through a shared services model, is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join their People team in Stellenbosch. With multiple entities and complex reward structures under one roof, this is a payroll role with real analytical teeth.

You will take ownership of end-to-end processing for selected monthly payrolls of 400+ employees across multiple entities, working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Officer as each other’s backup and quality check. Beyond processing, you will analyze payroll and reward data, build reports and dashboards, and turn numbers into insights that actively influence decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Process assigned payrolls on Sage 300 People with complete accuracy and strict deadline compliance.
• Conduct advanced reconciliations and resolve discrepancies at their root cause.
• Build and interpret payroll and reward reports, as well as management dashboards.
• Support salary increase, bonus, benchmarking, and share vesting cycles with robust data preparation.
• Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system and platform changes.
• Ensure full compliance with PAYE, UIF, SDL, and COID requirements.

What We Are Looking For

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• 5+ years of relevant payroll experience, ideally within a multi-entity or shared services environment.
• A solid understanding of South African payroll legislation and benefit fund administration.
• Sharp analytical skills paired with intermediate-to-advanced Excel proficiency.
